June 13, 2007 - Tacoma, Washington (June 13th, 2007) – Tacoma Electric Supply, Inc., celebrated the Grand Opening of its newest location, Lacey, WA. The Grand Opening featured a two hour trade show which consisted of 45 different product line exhibits along with a Tony Roma’s catered barbecue rib and chicken lunch.
Customers who visited a specific number of booths were entered into a grand prize drawing for a Mexican Carnival Cruise along with several other prizes. Over 250 customers attended the event.
Tacoma Electric Supply is consistently listed among the top 200 largest distributors in the nation by Electrical Wholesaling Magazine and was recently named the 7th Fastest Growing Company in the South Sound and one of the Top Places to Work.

March 12, 2007 - The Business Examiner has just announced the '07 Top Places to Work, and Tacoma Electric Supply was honored as one of the finalists! The finalists were placed into eight categories: Large Company, Small Company, Non-profit, Integrity, Appreciation, Equity, Gratification, and Solidarity. Tacoma Electric is proud to be named one of four companies considered in the Equity category, which focuses on fairness, promotions and hiring based on ability and qualifications, a process for appeals, and no toleration for discrimination. January 26, 2007 - The Java Jive was temporarily closed after finding "exposed electrical wiring, an abundance of combustibles, an improperly installed gas fireplace, an unprotected kitchen fryer and limited access to and number of marked exits. [The owner] was told she needed to hire an electrical contractor within the next seven days or else the power would be shut off. She worried about how she would pay for the work and said she needed help...Owners of Blaze Electric obtained a permit from Tacoma Power, got materials donated from Tacoma Electric and were working by the afternoon." The donated time and materials allowed the Java Jive to reopen quickly.
